Dr Tom Pollard
Birdwing Ecological Services is operated by Dr Tom Pollard. Tom is an ecologist with over 14 years experience working on projects relating to ecological assessment and management in NSW, QLD and VIC. Since completing his PhD studies in rainforest ecology at the University of Tasmania, he has worked as an ecologist for State government, not-for-profit and private organisations, and has been a consultant ecologist for the past six years. Tom is an accredited BAM (Biodiversity Assessment Method) assessor under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act).
Tom has particular experience and skills in:

Conducting flora surveys and threatened species surveys (including undertaking assessments using the BAM as required by the BC Act), vegetation mapping and quality assessment, species monitoring and ecological desktop assessments

Preparing high quality, accurate reports including BDARs (Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports) BSARs (Biodiversity Stewardship Assessment Reports), BCAR (Biodiversity Certification Assessment Reports), Review of Environmental Factors (REFs), Flora and Fauna assessments, and tests of significance as required by the BC Act and EPBC Act

Providing specialist ecologist advice across a variety of projects, private and public sector, to identify environmental constraints and opportunities
